Paul and Amanda’s Morgan Creek Golf Course Wedding

Paul and Amanda were married back in February. I posted pics on Facebook, but haven’t updated the blog in a while! They were married on a rainy day at Morgan Creek Golf Course. We took some photos indoors, some out in the rain and other outside, but under cover.

It was a lovely day with a lovely couple!

A New Year’s Eve Wedding | Kim and Willie

Kim and Willy were married on New Year’s Eve. (My third New Year’s Eve wedding in a row). What an amazing day! I arrived in the morning as Kim was getting ready and the party didn’t end until after midnight. At the house there were fun and games between the girls and guys. The guys were made to wear high heels and were rated on their strut. Then they were made to eat something that neither I nor they were quite sure what it was. They were great sports about it all and everyone was laughing and having a good time.

Kim looked absolutely stunning as a bride should. Her dress was amazing… actually all of her dresses (she changed several times throughout the day). After the wedding ceremony at Van Dusen Gardens we headed to Queen Elizabeth Park for photos. With a winter wedding the sun goes down early and all their photos were taken after sunset. (For any photographers reading this post – some of the outdoor images were taken with a shutter speed as slow as 1/15 of a second to allow the ambient light from the sky in). We went back to Van Dusen Gardens to take advantage of the Festival of Lights for photos too. Then off to the reception!

The reception (or shall I say party) was held at Fraser Court Restaurant in Vancouver. There were dragon dancers, confetti, cupcakes, Burger King Served close to midnight (as this was what they were eating when Willy proposed). So much fun and too much to mention here. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Bobbie and Scott’s Christmas Wedding at Hycroft Mansion

It feels like I’ve known Bobbie and Scott pretty close to forever now. They booked me nearly two years in advance for their special day. They were married on December 21, 2012… the end of the Myan calendar and possibly the end of time. Thank goodness we all lived and the world continues to turn! Their wedding took place at they Hycroft Mansion which is on of the most beautiful and historic venues I’ve photographed in. The day was filled with love, laughter and tears of joy. Bobbie is a lucky girl to have more than one Dad, so each of them walked her part way down the aisle.

Bobbie LOVES surprises. When we photographed their engagement photos she surprised Scott by renting a Dodge Charger for the shoot! Here’s a link to those pics: http://lindamccaguephotography.com/?p=1665. Nothing could stop them from including more surprises on the wedding day. They had gifts made for each other too. Scott had a personalized book made for Bobbie that was absolutely the cutest and Bobbie had a custom 6 string guitar made for Scott! Wow!! It was stunning. The guests also loved that Santa arrived early for Christmas and was able to find some time to share in their wedding.

A huge congratulations to you both. May your new life together be filled with love until the actual end of time.

Joanna and Andrew’s Creative Day After Session

Joanna and Andrew were recently married. Their wedding photos were posted on my blog and Facebook page. I was so excited for their Day After session (which actually took place about a month after the wedding). Day after sessions are so much fun as they allow for more time and creativity than on the wedding day. The wedding day is often rushed with trying to keep to a schedule and making sure we’re back for the reception on time. A day after session is a perfect accompaniment to your wedding photos and it’s fun to get to wear your dress again! They are perfect for the faint at heart as the dress stays dry and clean (unlike a Trash the Dress Sessions).

The stunning bouquet is by Celsia Florist. Their work is amazing everytime.

Riverway Golfcourse Wedding | Laura and James

Laura and James were married in mid September. It was a beautiful day full of love shared with friends and family. They were married at Immaculate Conception Parish in North Delta, pictures followed at Queen Elizabeth Park and their lovely reception was at the Riverway Golf Course.

New! Sweet Skinny Album

I just loooooove getting my hands on finished work after a wedding. Something tangible, something with texture to touch, feel and even smell. A DVD just doesn’t smell the same as a freshly printed album! I include the high resolution DVD with all my packages, but highly recommend going the extra step and choosing a package that includes an album or adding one!

I am so excited to introduce the newest member of my album lineup! This album fills a gap and fits perfectly between a press printed book (used mostly for guest books as the pages are printed on paper and easy to write on) and my high end flush mount albums (see one here) that are priced at $1000+, but are absolutely to die for!

Jo and Andrew | Crescent Beach Wedding | Langley Golf Center Reception

Joanna and Andrew were married the first weekend in September near Cresent Beach. It was an amazing day and they are an amazing couple. They are so full of love for each other and life itself. I think it shows in the photos. I don’t normally show so many pictures on the blog, but with this wedding I just couldn’t narrow it down any further. Their photos were done at Blackie Spit at Crescent Beach and also the Historic Stewart Farmhouse. Their reception was held at the Langley Golf Center (a really beautiful venue!).

Laura and James | Crescent Beach Engagement Session

Jessi and Patrick | Monk McQueens Wedding

Jessi is one of my sister’s long time friends. I was honoured when she hired me to photograph her wedding. It was another beautiful day in Vancouver. Originally Jessi was going to be getting ready the the beautiful Shangri-La Hotel downtown. Her wedding happened to coincide with the Vancouver Gay Pride Parade being on August 5, so downtown was very very busy. She decided to get ready just over the bridge in another beautiful suite. I would say her portraits in the room turned out lovely. I met up with Patrick at Monk McQueens just before the ceremony and snapped a few of him and the boys. Monk McQueens is a fantastic venue with stunning sweeping views of the city and amazing light in the evening. I’ve photographed a lot a Queen Elizabeth Park this summer and this couple also make beautiful portraits in the park as well.

Stephanie and Matt | Marine Drive Golf Club Wedding

Stephanie and Matt were married at the end of July at the Marine Drive Golf Club. Stephanie made a stunning bride for her lucky hubby Matt. I loved the custom made wedding dress hanger that one of her bridesmaids scored from Etsy. Stephanie got ready at her childhood home in Vancouver. It is an amazing home that was built in the 1930′s an full of old charm. I loved the detail in the original windows.

From there we headed to the prestigious Marine Drive Golf Club. The wedding ceremony was held outdoors on the raised patio. It was another beautiful day in Vancouver with the sun shining bright until night fell and the party continued.
