Last Wedding of 2011 | New Year’s Eve

My last wedding of the year was once again on New Year’s Eve. This time I was having the fun 2nd shooting for the talented Dana Smith. Dana hired me to help out with the off camera lighting for the portraits as they were scheduled to start after dark in gastown. I don’t have a lot of shots of the couple to share with you as I was mostly directing the light, but once we went indoors I was able to take a few detail shots. The reception was held at the beautiful Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver and it was decorated to the hilt.

Our first stop in Gastown for the portratis was Blood Alley. I love this area for pictures as there are some great wrought iron staircases and old street lamps.

Stephanie’s father had passed away. This image is from the mother/daugher dance.

Albums Big and Beautiful

I don’t always get the chance to take photos of and blog about my albums before they are delivered to a client. One of my New Years resolutions will be to do this more often! I love the look, touch and smell of a gorgeous hand crafted leather album. This album below belongs to Suka and Sergio. It is a 12×12 Flush Mount style album with 40 pages. With flush mount albums my designs are printed as real photographic prints are mounted flush to the thick pages. There seem to be endless choices in cover materials and the combinations you can arrange them in. Most of my brides tend to go with a two tone cover with a main leather cover and then another accent leather or fabric for the spine. I have swatches of everthing that is available for you to see in the studio. The quality is outstanding and they are made to last a lifetime. Your album will be your first family heirloom.

Albums can be included in your package or you can purchase afterwards as well. I offer albums at different price points, so there is something for everyone! Another style is a coffee table book. The designs are the same, but the album is printed on paper (rather than photograhpic prints) and the pages are thinner. I like to show both style albums at consultations so you can see the difference between them and it also shows my photography!

A high resolution disk is included with every wedding, but it is so nice to be able to have your pictures in a tangible form that can be shared with your frinds and family.

Rachel and Jason | Pitt Meadows Wedding

Rachel and Jason were yet another of my recent bookings and again I was so glad they found me! It was another beautiful October day that just seemed to fly by. They were married at their Church in Pitt Meadows and we did photos at the nearby park. Rachels two daughters were the custest little flower girls.

Michelle and Jamie Yaletown Wedding at Brix

Michelle and Jamie were another of my last minute bookings this fall. Once again I’m so glad they found me. They were referred by Dani and Andrew’s parents (THANK YOU). They had a beautiful candle light ceremony at Brix Restaurant in Yaletown. The ceremony started after sunset at 5:00pm. It was absolutely beautiful. A big shout out to Devon Hird of Fairy Godmother Weddings for keeping the evening on track!

Congrats Jamie and Michelle on your new life together.

Nousha and Zain | Wedding

September came and I thought that my wedding season was over for the year, but then three more wonderful couples booked me for their weddings that were coming up all in Oct. and Nov. of this year! Lucky me! I’ve fallen a bit behind on blogging. Most think that this is the slow time of year, but I’ve been a busy beaver. I’ve shot 3 weddings since my last post, 46 families at a fundraiser for  Gray Elementary School, 31 little ones at a preschool, and not to mention designing many Christmas cards for clients all over the USA through my graphic design business. (I’ll post some of the unique and custom stuff I’ve been doing soon).

So, here, once again is Nousha and Zain. Their engagement session is just a couple of posts back. They were married in October on a slighly overcast day (but it didn’t rain!). Nousha looked stunning and Zain was very debonair. They opted for a first look before their Muslim ceremony that was held later in the day.

Thank you Zain and Nousha for choosing me to be a part of your very special day. It was amazing.
